What is this Lending Service- Called Bill Discounting?

This service allows patients to get upfront funding for their medical treatment or surgery. The loan is disbursed by our partnered NBFCs (Non-Banking Financial Companies) and is backed by the patient’s approved health insurance policy.

Who can apply for this loan?

  • Patients with an active health insurance policy.

  • Patients admitted to our partner hospitals.

  • Applicants who meet the NBFC’s credit and KYC requirements.

What expenses are covered under this loan?

  • Surgery costs

  • Hospitalization expenses

  • Diagnostic and pre/post-surgery medical expenses (if covered by insurance)

How does the process work?

1. Patient share insurance details with the Pretbox Claim desk.
2. Loan application is initiated with the NBFC.
3. NBFC verifies insurance policy approval and patient’s KYC.
4. Loan is disbursed directly to the hospital for treatment expenses.
5. Post insurance settlement, the NBFC adjusts repayment.

What documents are required?

  • Valid ID proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, etc.)

  • Insurance policy documents (active & approved)

  • Hospital admission letter / treatment estimate

  • KYC documents as required by NBFC

How is the loan repaid?

  • Once the insurance claim is settled, the NBFC adjusts the repayment directly from the claim amount.

  • If any balance remains (e.g., non-covered expenses), the patient pays that portion.

Will this affect my insurance coverage?

No. Your insurance coverage remains intact. The loan is only an advance against your approved claim.

Is there any interest or processing fee?

For patients, there is no interest or processing fees.

What happens if the insurance claim is denied?

If the claim is rejected or partially paid, the patient becomes responsible for repaying the loan amount directly to the NBFC.

How fast is the loan disbursed?

In most cases, the loan is disbursed within 24–48 hours after insurance verification and KYC approval.

Can the loan be taken for emergency cases?

Yes. Emergency admissions are prioritized, and loans can be fast tracked subject to basic verification.

Are there any penalties for early repayment?

No, patients can repay early without penalties (depending on NBFC policy).
